Over 2.42 lakh candidates appeared for NEET PG 2025 exam, took place online on August 20, 2025, in a single shift across 301 cities and 1,052 test centres, making it one of the largest postgraduate medical entrance exams in the country.
Supreme Court is set to hear a plea regarding the transparency of NEET PG 2025 answer key today, October 28, 2025. Following a Supreme Court directive, for the first time NBEMS released NEET PG answer key. However, candidates criticized it for containing only “question IDs” instead of full questions.

Petitions submitted by NEET PG aspirants and the United Doctors Front highlighted concerns about transparency. NEET PG 2025 SC hearing, initially set for the date September 12, 2025, was postponed twice to September 19, 2025, and then September 23, 2025.
Candidates have argued that releasing only “question IDs” makes it hard for them to check answers and creates doubts about the evaluation process. They have asked the court to direct NBEMS to adopt a more transparent system. Students claim the limited disclosure is “opaque, unintelligible, and incapable of meaningful verification".
Candidates assert that the system violates their right to a fair admission process under Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution. A petition highlights that it defeats the purpose of publishing answer keys, which is to let candidates check their answers and raise objections against NEET PG answer key.
The ongoing legal proceedings have temporarily stopped NEET PG 2025 counselling process for All India Quota, which covers 50% of seats in MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses. However, states like Gujarat, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu already have started registration procedure for their state quota counselling.
MCC has released NEET PG 2025 counselling schedule for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) for MD, MS, and postgraduate diploma courses for 2025–26 academic session. The last date of round 1 registration is November 05, 2025, until 12:00 noon and NEET PG 2025 seat allotment will be declared on the date November 08, 2025, as per the schedule.
